GDP UP, Oil Supply Tight
Strongest Annual GDP Growth Since 1984
Growth for 2021 was reported at 5.7%, the fastest rate since 1984, driven by a strong inventory rebuild in the second half of the year. The most recent revision of fourth quarter GDP by the Commerce Department came in at 7%, in line with market estimates. The change was the result of increased contributions from fixed investment and state and local government spending.
