Some Improvement but Still Work to Do
The clogged Southern California ports are seeing some improvement, but goods are still bogged down as they head onshore. As can be seen in the chart below, the number of ships waiting off the coast has been climbing for months, now barely off all-time highs. The aggregate capacity of ships waiting rose from 637,329 TEUs (20-foot equivalent unit or what we better recognize as a standard shipping container) in October to 745,305 TEUs in November.
